PPA Board of Directors & Officers

Judi Mackey: PRESIDENT  2025-2026

Judi brings to the board experience in leadership and management through technology from the corporate world as well as running two successful businesses. She has been active with PPA through round robin captaining and development of a PPA league. Her passion is nurturing a team atmosphere that is dedicated to growth that will benefit the members and community at large. It is her goal to use her years of experience to bring about new and exciting programs for the Pickleball community and developing greater opportunities for members and future members to play this amazing sport.  This year PPA has the privilege of having a dedicated team that will be redoing our strategic plan that will be advising and giving direction for the next steps in our desire for continued growth.    Some of her visions include more programming including leagues, tournaments, and training, additional courts, technology updates, increased communication, and a strong relationship with the City of Prescott. She is excited to serve the members of Prescott Pickleball Association and encourages the growth of the game of Pickleball to include fun, extended programming, competition, instruction, and various social events.

PEG TRAVERS: Vice president  2026-2027

Retiring in 2008, Peg and Tom moved to Prescott to be close to her daughter Joy.

When Roger Wolfe brought Pickleball to Prescott Lakes, Peg fell in love with the sport.  Shortly after she became a USAPA Pickleball Ambassador on the Northern Arizona team.

When (Pickleball) Bob Atherton retired as Director Northern Arizona, Peg took over the team.  At that time she had formed the Prescott Pickleball Association and was working with both the City of Prescott and Yavapai County to build the courts. Peg served as founder and first president for two years with eight courts built and  four more on the way.

Peg stepped aside from PPA to serve as Assistant Regional Director for the Southern Region then USAPA (now USA PIckleball).  As Assistant Director, she was part of the Regional Tournament (1,100 participants) team.

When Jim Thomas began the project to build an indoor facility, Peg served on that team for project development.   Peg helped with design, and interfaced with Prescott City officials on the project.

Peg also currently serves as a board member for  New Mexico Arizona Pickleball Association. NMAPA provides grants to schools and first responders to help them develop pickleball.  NMAPA also works closely with the Parkinson Foundation using pickleball as a way to promote health and well being with Parkinson patients.

Peg is happy to serve both the  PPA and the Prescott community.

MICHAEL CLARKE: SECRETARY 2025-2026

Michael discovered pickleball in 2023, and it quickly became a passion for building community. As a PPA member since 2024, he’s always ready to welcome newcomers to the court. He plays regularly in round robins and ladder groups at the 3.0+ level. By day, Michael works as a financial planner, skills that translate naturally into his community work: thoughtful communication, strategic goal-setting, and a genuine interest in helping people succeed. His volunteer experience includes fostering rescue dogs with Angel City Pit Bulls in Los Angeles and serving with the Prescott Downtown Partnership. A fourth-generation Arizona native, Michael and his wife Tania are raising their joyful two-year-old in a town they love, actively contributing to the community they call home.

Michael’s approach is to stay accessible—creating a space for people to voice concerns, discuss ideas and goals, and ensure a better pickleball experience for all.

Marcie Moody: Member At Large  2025-2026

First of all, I’d like to thank the PPA members for voting for me for the of Member-At- Large Board position. I’ve been involved with the PPA for many years & have seen how it has grown in lesson organization for all levels as well as expanding to so many other perspective players. It takes a number of people to keep up with current & new programs for all interest of Pickleball play. Whether a player is looking to advance to a higher level or just enjoy a recreational & social atmosphere, there is a source within PPA to accomplish their needs. Volunteers are always a welcome addition to ensure these events are successful.

I will complete my duties as requested by the Board for the duration of my position to the best of my ability. I have committed to this position in the past & have working knowledge of what the requirements are to benefit all the members.

A new Board is taking hold of their positions for PPA & ideas are always a big part of any associations’ success. A new survey is in the works & this is the time to see how other ideas can make an improvement or suggestion from the membership.

I’ve dedicated a lot of time to help PPA be a strong & important part of our community. I look forward to seeing you at future events.

Until then, keep that paddle up!
